We service the Volkswagen Golf, GTI and R, the Jetta and Passat, the Tiguan, Touareg and Teramont, using oil to the VW specification for each engine. Most owners come to us when the service reminder appears or when the dealer service plan has ended.
When is your Volkswagen service due?
Volkswagens show an oil change reminder and an inspection reminder. Depending on the market and the car, the oil interval is either fixed or flexible, worked out by the engine computer from how the car is driven. Short, hot trips in traffic count as severe use, so a fixed interval suits most cars in the UAE.

What we check on a Volkswagen
DSG behaviour
We ask how the gearbox drives in traffic. Judder or harsh changes on the 7-speed dry-clutch DSG are often helped by an adaptation, and the wet-clutch DSG needs its oil changed on time.
Water pump and thermostat housing
The plastic housing on many TSI engines seeps coolant with age. We look for dried coolant around it.
PCV and oil separator
A failed diaphragm causes a whistle and lean codes on TSI engines. We test it during the inspection.
Teramont V6 cooling
The Teramont's V6 is a big engine in a hot climate. We check the coolant condition, the hoses and the radiator before the summer.
Servicing in UAE heat
Heat and fine dust are hard on the cabin filter, the AC and the plastic cooling parts. We clean sand from the condenser, check the coolant and test the battery, which takes a beating on start-stop cars in summer traffic. Touaregs and Teramonts that tow or go to the desert also get their air filter and 4Motion fluids checked.
Dealer warranty
Under UAE consumer protection rules, servicing outside the dealer does not by itself void the Volkswagen manufacturer warranty, provided the work follows VW's schedule with the right oil and parts and is recorded. We give you a written job record for every service.

Volkswagen service: questions
Does my DSG gearbox need an oil change?
The 6-speed and 7-speed wet-clutch DSGs need their oil and filter changed at the interval VW sets. The 7-speed dry-clutch DSG in smaller cars has no scheduled clutch oil change, but it benefits from an adaptation if it judders.
Which oil do you use?
Oil to the VW specification for your engine, shown in the handbook. The specification is printed on your quote next to the brand you choose.
Can you service a Golf R?
Yes, including the Haldex coupling oil in the 4Motion system and the DSG oil when due.
Do you reset the service reminder?
Yes, after the work, with the same interval type the car was set to.
