When is your Land Rover service due?
A Land Rover shows a service due message based on distance or time, whichever comes first. The schedule adds items at set intervals, such as spark plugs, filters, brake fluid and the transfer box oil. Desert driving and towing count as severe use. We read the history and reset the service message after the work.

What we check on a Land Rover
Air suspension
We check that the car is level after standing, look at the air springs, lines and valve block, and listen to the compressor. A slow leak caught early saves the compressor.
Coolant pipes and leaks
Plastic coolant pipes and fittings on the V6 and V8 engines become brittle in the heat. We look for dried coolant around the engine at every service.
Timing chain on early 2.0 Ingenium engines
Some early 2.0 litre Ingenium engines stretch their timing chain. We listen for a rattle at start-up and read the timing correlation values.
Sand after desert trips
After off-road use we check the air filter, the brakes and the underbody for sand and water, and look at the wheel bearings.
Servicing in UAE heat
Heat ages the rubber in the air suspension, the coolant pipes and the battery, and summer traffic keeps the cooling system and the AC at full load. Desert trips put sand into filters and brakes. We check all of these before the hot months and after off-road use.
Dealer warranty
Under UAE consumer protection rules, servicing outside the dealer does not by itself void a Land Rover's manufacturer warranty, provided the service follows Land Rover's schedule with the right oil, parts and fluids and is recorded. We give you a written job record for every service.

Land Rover service: questions
My Range Rover sits low in the morning. Is that the air suspension?
It usually is: an air spring, a line or the valve block is leaking. We find which one before quoting, so you only replace what has failed.
How often should I service a Defender used in the desert?
Follow the severe-use schedule, and have the air filter, brakes and underbody checked after dune trips.
Do you reset the service message?
Yes, with the diagnostic tool after the service.
Do you service the gearbox?
We change the transfer box and differential oils when due and inspect the main gearbox for leaks. If the car is shifting badly, a gearbox oil change and adaptation can be quoted.
