Minor Car Service
A minor, or interim, service is the lighter visit that falls between the larger ones. It is built around fresh engine oil and filter and a set of checks, and it is enough when the car is healthy, the mileage is modest and the major service is not due yet.

How we do minor car service
- 1
Drain and replace oil and filter
The oil grade and specification are matched to your engine's requirement, and the drain plug seal is replaced where the car needs one.
- 2
Check fluid levels
Coolant, brake fluid, power steering, washer and gearbox levels are looked at and topped up where appropriate, with any unusual loss noted.
- 3
Visual safety inspection
Tyres, brake pads, lights, wipers, battery terminals, belts and the underside of the car are looked over for wear and leaks.
- 4
Report and advise
You get a short note of anything that will need attention soon, ranked by urgency, so there are no surprises at the next visit.
Signs it is time
- Around six months or a few thousand kilometres since the last service
- The oil looks dark on the dipstick, or the oil-life indicator is getting low
- Your car mostly does short commutes and the major service is not yet due
- You want a basic safety check before a family trip
- A new-to-you car whose last service date is not certain
- A faint tick from the engine on cold starts that goes away as it warms
What usually causes it
Oil is the first thing to wear out
Heat and short journeys break oil down faster than long cruising. Old oil leaves less protection for the engine, so it is the main reason to service often.
Small leaks and wear show up early
A regular look under the car catches a weeping gasket or a split hose when it is a small job.
Drivers rarely check basics
Washer fluid, tyre pressures, lights and wipers are simple items that get ignored until they matter.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
The air filter is not usually part of the oil visit, but in the dust we have around building sites and desert roads, we look at it anyway and show you if it needs replacing. Cars used mainly for short school-run and shop trips should be treated as severe use and may benefit from a minor service twice a year. We can pick up and deliver the car so the visit fits your working day. If the car sits in a hot car park all day, check the oil level monthly between visits, because engines that run hot use a little more oil.
Questions about minor car service
What is the difference between minor and major?
A minor service renews oil and filter and checks the car. A major one adds items like spark plugs, other filters and possibly gearbox or brake fluid depending on the schedule.
Can I do only minor services forever?
No. The larger items on the maker's schedule still come due and skipping them eventually costs more.
Do you use the oil my car requires?
Yes. We match the grade and approval to your engine, and the choice and price are written on the quote.
Will you tell me if something else is needed?
Yes, and we separate what is urgent from what can wait, without starting any extra work without your approval.
Can I book a minor service for a car I have just bought?
Yes, and it is a good idea. A fresh oil and filter change gives you a known starting point, and the inspection shows what the previous owner left undone.
Does a minor service reset the dashboard reminder?
Yes, we reset the reminder after the visit and tell you the next due date or distance.
