Scheduled Vehicle Maintenance

Scheduled maintenance means doing the jobs the manufacturer lists at each mileage or time milestone: fluids, filters, plugs, belts and inspections. It is the baseline that keeps a car reliable and keeps its service history intact when you come to sell or claim on a warranty.

How we do scheduled vehicle maintenance

  1. 1

    Find your car's schedule

We identify the exact engine and gearbox, then work from the maker's listed items for your mileage, adjusted for severe-use conditions where the manual allows.

  2. 2

Agree the work list in writing

You get a written quote listing every item and the part choice, whether OEM, aftermarket or another option. Nothing is added without your approval.

  3. 3

    Do the service items

Fluids and filters are replaced, plugs and belts are done if due, and each item is ticked off against the list.

  4. 4

    Inspect and record

Brakes, tyres, suspension, lights and leaks are checked. We record what was done and the mileage so the history is clear next time.

  5. 5

    Reset the reminder

The service indicator is reset and we tell you the next due date and what is coming up at that stage.

Book scheduled vehicle maintenance

Signs it is time

  • The service reminder has come on in the instrument panel, or the sticker on the windscreen has passed its date
  • You have reached a mileage in the owner's manual that lists a bigger service
  • You bought the car second-hand and have no idea what has been done to it
  • The car is still under warranty and the dealer wants to see a documented history
  • It has been more than a year since the last service, even if the mileage is low

What usually causes it

Wear is predictable, so timing is too

Oil degrades, filters clog and rubber hardens at known rates. The schedule is the maker's best estimate of when to act before something fails.

Short trips and traffic count as severe use

Many manuals list a shorter interval for stop-start driving, towing, dusty roads and extreme heat. Daily life in the Emirates meets most of those conditions.

Time matters as much as distance

A car that does very few kilometres still ages. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, rubber perishes and oil oxidises with the calendar, not only the odometer.

Skipped items add up

A missed gearbox fluid or coolant change rarely causes trouble on its own, but a few missed jobs together shorten the life of expensive components.

In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman

Heat, dust and stop-start traffic on roads such as Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Ittihad Road all count as severe use, so a schedule written for a mild European climate can be too relaxed here. If the manual offers a normal and a severe interval, we suggest the shorter one for most local cars. Pickup and delivery lets you hand the car over from home or the office.

Questions about scheduled vehicle maintenance

Does servicing outside the dealer affect my warranty?

The rules depend on the manufacturer and the contract. Many allow independent servicing if the correct specification parts and fluids are used and records are kept, but check your own agreement.

Should I follow miles or months?

Whichever comes first. A car driven little still needs its fluids changed on the calendar.

What if the manual lists very long intervals?

Some makers quote long intervals under ideal conditions. For UAE driving we usually recommend not stretching them, and explain our reasons for your engine.

Can I get a written record?

Yes, a clear list of work, mileage and parts used, which helps when you sell the car.
