Major Car Service
A major service is the big periodic visit. On top of oil and filter it covers the items that wear over a longer period: spark plugs, air and fuel filters, brake and other fluids, and belts and hoses where due. It resets the car's baseline. Think of it as resetting the clock on every part that is cheap to change now and costly to ignore later.

How we do major car service
- 1
Match the service to the schedule
We work out which items are due at your mileage and age, and list them in the quote, with part choice for each.
- 2
Replace the wear items
Plugs, filters and fluids due are renewed with the correct specification. Gaps and torque values follow the maker's figures.
- 3
Full inspection
Brakes, suspension, steering joints, exhaust, belts, hoses, battery, lights and tyres are checked and the findings noted.
- 4
Scan for faults
A quick scan of the main modules can show stored faults that no light has yet revealed.
- 5
Road test and handover
We drive the car after the service, then go through what was done and what to plan for next.
Signs it is time
- The odometer has reached a larger service milestone in the maker's schedule
- Fuel use has crept up and the engine feels slightly less lively
- The car is slower to start or idles a little rough
- You plan a long trip, a holiday handover or a sale
- The last big service is a distant memory or there is no record of it
What usually causes it
Spark plugs wear gradually
Electrodes erode and the gap grows, so the spark weakens. You notice it as slower response and poorer economy before any warning light.
Filters clog slowly
Air, fuel and cabin filters fill with dust. An air filter that has done years in desert dust restricts breathing and strains the engine.
Fluids degrade over time
Brake fluid absorbs moisture and its boiling point falls. Coolant loses its corrosion protection. Gearbox oil sheared by heat gives rougher shifts.
Belts and hoses age with heat
Rubber hardens and cracks. A belt or hose that fails on the road ends the journey and sometimes harms the engine.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
On local roads, brake fluid and coolant tend to age faster than the brochure suggests because of heat. If a major service is due in late spring, doing it before summer gives the cooling system and air conditioning a fair chance in the hottest months. We list every item and its price on the written quote, so you can compare with a dealer figure.
Questions about major car service
How often is a major service needed?
It depends on the maker. Many list larger services at set intervals of time or distance. We read your car's schedule rather than apply a general rule.
Is a major service the same as a full inspection?
No. It replaces wear items. The inspection is part of it, and a separate pre-purchase inspection exists for buying a used car.
Can I choose cheaper parts?
Yes. OEM, aftermarket and, for suitable items, used parts are options, and the written quote shows them.
Will the car need to stay overnight?
Often not, but if extra work is found and approved, it might. We tell you the timing up front.
What should I bring or tell you?
Your service book or any receipts, plus a short list of anything that bothers you, such as a noise or a warning light. That helps us test the right things while the car is apart.
Will you replace parts that are not yet worn out?
Only items that are due on the schedule or clearly near the end of their life. We show you the evidence for anything extra and wait for your approval.
