Volkswagen Tiguan service in Dubai

The Tiguan is a practical compact SUV and a common Volkswagen in the UAE. Most have the 2.0 TSI four-cylinder, which has a couple of well-documented weak points depending on its age.

Common Tiguan problems we fix

• Timing chain tensioner on older 2.0 TSI

Early Tiguans from about 2008 to 2012 with the 2.0 TSI can suffer timing chain tensioner failure, which can let the chain jump and damage the engine. A rattle on start-up needs checking.

• Water pump and thermostat housing leaks

Newer 2.0 TSI engines use a plastic water pump and thermostat housing that can leak. A coolant smell or low coolant warning is the early sign.

• Oil consumption

Some older 2.0 TSI engines use oil between services. Checking the level every few weeks avoids running it low.

• AC and brakes

Summer heat and city traffic wear the AC and front brakes steadily.
