Paintless Dent Repair
Paintless dent repair works the metal back into shape from behind or by gentle glue-pulling on the surface, so the factory paint stays untouched. It suits shallow dents with unbroken paint. It does not suit sharp creases, stretched metal or cracked paint. The skill is in reading the dent, which is why the same job can take twenty minutes or two days.

Signs you need paintless dent repair
- A round dent from a door or a trolley, with the paint still shiny and whole
- Many small dents on the roof and bonnet after hail
- A shallow crease on a door skin without a scratch
- A dent in a spot where the panel can be reached from behind
- A car you intend to sell where you want to avoid repaint marks on the history
What usually causes it
Soft contact
Doors, trolleys and balls press the panel inward without cutting the paint, leaving a smooth hollow.
Hail impacts
Hailstones leave rounded dents that vary in size. A hail-hit car may have dozens, and PDR is often the practical answer.
Pressing on panels
Leaning on, or placing loads on, a bonnet or roof leaves a broad shallow dent in the metal.
How we do paintless dent repair
- 1
Check suitability
Under a reflection board, we judge depth, location and the condition of the paint. Cracked paint or stretched metal rules PDR out.
- 2
Gain access
We reach behind the panel through a gap, a light fitting or by lifting trim. Where there is no access, glue pulling from the front is used.
- 3
Massage the metal
Using tools shaped for the job, tiny pushes are applied around the dent, working from the outside inwards until the surface is flat.
- 4
Check by reflection
We check the finish again with a light board, because a dent is judged by how it distorts a straight line, not by touch.
By make and model
Aluminium-panel cars
Aluminium bonnets and doors on some premium models are harder to work than steel and may not be suited to PDR, so we assess each case rather than promise.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Keeping the original paint matters, because a repainted panel is visible to anyone checking a used car with a paint gauge, and may reduce resale value. Hail is infrequent in the Gulf, but a single storm can damage many cars at once. Photograph the dent from several angles in daylight before you bring it in, so we can give you a first opinion by message.
Questions about paintless dent repair
How do I know PDR will work on my dent?
We look at it. A smooth, shallow dent with sound paint is the ideal case. A sharp crease or cracked paint is not.
Is it cheaper than body repair?
Often, since there is no filler, paint or waiting for curing. The quote shows the price before work starts.
Will the dent come back?
No. The metal is returned to its shape and stays there.
Can you fix a dent on a panel edge?
Edges are difficult because the metal is double thickness. Some are possible, but we are honest if the result would be only partial.
Can hail damage on a whole roof be fixed?
Often, yes, if the dents are shallow and the paint is intact. A large number of dents takes time, and we quote after seeing the roof in good light.
Does PDR show up on a paint thickness test?
A correctly done PDR leaves the paint thickness unchanged, which is the main reason owners choose it before selling.
Is there any risk to the paint?
Very little when the paint is sound. If a hairline crack is hiding in the paint, pushing the metal can lift flakes, which is why we inspect under strong light first.
