Frame Repair & Alignment
Many large SUVs and pickup trucks sit on a separate steel ladder frame, with the body bolted on top. When that frame is bent, the whole vehicle can drive out of line even if the body looks fine, and repair means pulling the frame on a bench and re-checking its diagonal measurements. Always measure before and after, because a frame can look straight and still be a few centimetres out.

Signs you need frame repair & alignment
- The truck or SUV drifts or crabs, with the rear wheels not following the front
- Uneven ground clearance on one side, or a wheel off-centre in its arch
- Gaps between the body and frame, or a cabin that sits crooked
- Heavy tyre wear that alignment cannot cure
- Cracked welds or crumpled rails visible under the vehicle
- Towing or load-carrying that now feels unstable
- A new rattle from underneath after landing hard from a dune crest
What usually causes it
Off-road and desert impacts
Dune bashing, rocks and ditches put huge loads on the frame, bending cross-members and suspension mounts.
Heavy collisions
A big truck impact or a rollover can twist the frame along its length, in a way that is visible only on a measuring bench.
Overloading and fatigue
Pickups used for heavy work can crack at welds and brackets over time.
Previous poor repair
Welding a frame cut without proper reinforcement leaves a weak point, and it can fail under load.
How we do frame repair & alignment
- 1
Inspect and measure
The body is lifted or separated if needed, and the frame is measured at set points, including diagonals, to see bends, twists and sag.
- 2
Straighten with controlled pulls
The frame is clamped to a bench and pulled in stages, measuring each time, to avoid overstressing the steel.
- 3
Repair cracks and replace sections
Cracked areas are welded and reinforced where the maker allows it, and damaged cross-members or rails are replaced.
- 4
Refit body and suspension
Body mounts, suspension arms, steering parts and the drivetrain are reassembled to the specified torque.
- 5
Full alignment and road test
A four-wheel alignment and test drive, loaded if needed, confirm the vehicle tracks straight.
By make and model
Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan Patrol, Ford F-150 and pickup trucks
These are body-on-frame vehicles, so impact and off-road damage should be checked on a frame bench, not judged from the body alone.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Weekend desert driving is a popular activity in the UAE, and frames take a beating from hard landings and rocks. If your vehicle has been on the dunes, a frame check is worth doing, especially before towing or carrying passengers on a highway. We can also look over the suspension and underbody protection while the frame is exposed.
Questions about frame repair & alignment
How is this different from chassis repair?
Chassis repair on a unibody car corrects the welded shell. Frame repair deals with a separate ladder frame, which has its own measuring points and methods.
Can a bent frame be fully fixed?
Minor to moderate bends usually can be, when the steel is not cracked. Severe damage may mean replacing sections or the frame.
Is it safe to tow with a repaired frame?
If repaired to specification and verified, yes. We tell you if a repair limits use.
Do I need an alignment afterwards?
Yes, always. It is part of the job and checks the result.
Can I use the vehicle off-road again after a frame repair?
If the frame has been repaired to specification and the measurement is within tolerance, yes. We tell you if any limit applies.
Do you check suspension mounts at the same time?
Yes. Suspension mounting points are measured with the frame, since they are what move when the frame twists.
