Custom Car Painting
Custom paint covers anything not from the factory colour chart: pearls, candies, metallic flakes, two-tone schemes, graphics and stripes. These finishes need design decisions made before spraying, because many cannot be matched or repaired later without repainting the whole panel.

How we do custom car painting
- 1
Define the look and the limits
We discuss colour, finish, sheen and any lettering or graphics. We also ask about registration and use: some changes, especially of the main colour, must be recorded with the authority.
- 2
Spray test panels
You see the actual finish on a test panel in daylight before we commit, because custom colours change dramatically with the light.
- 3
Prepare and base coat
The car is stripped of trim, sanded smooth and sealed. A base colour that supports the effect, often a specific shade of primer or ground coat, is applied first.
- 4
Apply effect layers and clear
Pearl, flake or candy coats go on in even passes, with a protective clear coat on top that is baked and polished.
Why get custom paint
- You want something that no other car on the road has
- A show car, project build or restoration needing a period or special colour
- A commercial vehicle that needs a particular brand colour scheme
- A two-tone roof or a stripe that must align cleanly across several panels
- A previous custom job that has faded or been damaged and needs redoing
- A faded vinyl wrap you want to replace with a lasting painted finish
What usually causes it
Layered colours depend on thickness
Candy and pearl finishes get their depth from translucent layers. Small differences in how many coats are applied change the final shade.
Formulas are not always repeatable
A one-off mix may not be recreated exactly, so we record the formula and spray an extra test card for future repairs.
Design alignment across panels
Stripes and graphics must be masked with the panels fitted in place, so they line up across gaps.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Custom finishes that look wonderful in a showroom are hardest to live with in a hot climate. Some candy and very bright colours fade faster in strong sun, and we say so honestly when you ask. For daily cars, a high-quality UV clear coat is the best investment. Keep the formula record with the car, because it is what allows a future repair to match. A short rest between coats matters more than speed, which is why custom work takes longer than a standard respray.
Questions about custom car painting
Can any colour be registered?
The colour must be recorded on your registration as the authority requires. Ask them about unusual finishes before committing.
Will it fade faster than factory paint?
Some specialty pigments do. We tell you which ones are weaker in strong sun before you choose.
Can a custom colour be repaired after a scratch?
Yes, but the repair may need an entire panel resprayed so the effect blends. Keeping the formula helps.
Do you do graphics and lettering?
Painted stripes and two-tone schemes yes. For vinyl graphics, ask first and we will tell you honestly if it is better handled elsewhere.
How long should I plan for a custom job?
Allow two to three weeks for a complex finish, since each layer must cure and the test panels need your approval before the car is sprayed.
Can I bring my own paint?
Please talk to us first. We need to know the paint system is compatible with the primer and clear coat, so the finish lasts.
Will you keep a record of my colour mix?
Yes. We note the formula and keep a sprayed sample so future repairs can be matched.
