What usually causes it
Underbody and chassis wear
Desert use can damage skid plates, bend steering parts and push sand into joints. We check the chassis rails, suspension mounts and underbody for damage, rust and repair work.
KDSS and suspension leaks
Some Land Cruiser and Prado trims use the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), which uses hydraulic cylinders that can leak. We look for wet cylinders and check how the car sits and handles.
Drivetrain and differential condition
Heavy towing and dune driving add wear to differentials, transfer cases and CV joints. We look for leaks and noise and check 4WD operation where possible.
Cooling system and water pump
On some 200 Series V8 models, water pump leaks are a known issue. We check for coolant residue, fluid condition and stored temperature faults.

Land Cruiser 200 and 300 Series
Underbody damage, suspension and drivetrain wear are the main risks; on the 200 Series we also check the V8 cooling system closely.
Land Cruiser Prado and LC70
