Mercedes-Benz Pre-Purchase Inspection
Mercedes-Benz cars hold their value well in the UAE, which means sellers can ask a lot even for cars with expensive faults waiting to happen. Our Mercedes pre-purchase inspection checks the full car and pays extra attention to air suspension, the automatic gearbox, oil leaks and the electrics.

How we do mercedes-benz pre-purchase inspection
- 1
Book with the model details
Tell us the model, year and engine, or send the registration card. Mercedes model codes such as W213 or W222 help us prepare for that generation's known issues.
- 2
Suspension and ride height check
We check the car level, look at each air strut and bellow, and watch whether the car raises and lowers correctly when the system is tested.
- 3
Gearbox, engine and module scan
On the Standard and Comprehensive plans we read every control unit, then road-test the car to feel each gear change, the brakes and the steering.
- 4
Plain-language report
The report separates urgent faults from normal wear for the car's age, so you can decide whether to negotiate, ask the seller to repair first or walk away.
Why check a used Mercedes before you buy
- The car sits lower at one corner after it has been parked overnight
- Gear changes feel firm or slightly delayed, especially from cold
- You are buying an older S-Class, E-Class or GLE where repairs cost more than on smaller models
- The seller has replaced the battery recently and some warning messages appeared and cleared
- The car came from another emirate or another country and has a short local history
- You want to know whether the price leaves room for the work the car will need
What usually causes it
Airmatic air suspension leaks and compressor wear
Air struts dry out and crack in the heat, and a leaking strut makes the compressor work harder until it fails. We check ride height at each corner, listen for the compressor running too often and read suspension faults.
7G-Tronic gearbox and conductor plate faults
The 7G-Tronic automatic fitted to many Mercedes models from the mid-2000s can develop electronic faults in its conductor plate, causing harsh shifts or limp mode. We read gearbox codes and check shift quality on the road test.
Oil leaks and engine mounts
Cam cover gaskets, oil cooler seals and oil pan gaskets are common leak points on Mercedes V6 and V8 engines. Worn engine and gearbox mounts show up as vibration at idle in drive.
Electrical modules and comfort features
SAM modules, seat motors, the COMAND or MBUX screen and parking sensors all add up when several fail. We test the comfort and convenience features one by one, not just the engine.
By make and model
Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-Class
Air suspension, electrical modules and comfort features need the closest attention on these models, because they are the most expensive to put right.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class
We look at the underbody, axles and differential lock operation on G-Class cars that may have been used off-road or in the desert.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Air suspension parts, rubber seals and batteries all age faster in UAE heat. A Mercedes that has lived outside in Dubai or Sharjah for five summers can look immaculate inside and still need struts or a compressor. Finding that before the sale is worth far more than the inspection costs.
Questions about mercedes-benz pre-purchase inspection
Do you inspect AMG models?
Yes. AMG cars get the same checks plus a closer look at brakes, tyres and signs of hard driving or track use.
Can you tell if the air suspension will fail soon?
We cannot predict the exact day, but we can see leaks, slow raising, compressor strain and stored faults that show a system is already struggling.
Do I need to be there during the inspection?
No. The seller only needs to give us access to the car. You receive the report afterwards, and we are happy to talk you through it.
Is a dealer-approved used Mercedes still worth inspecting?
It often is. An approved-used warranty covers some future faults, but an inspection tells you about the current condition and any past accident repairs.
