Parking Sensor & Reverse Camera Installation
Parking sensors beep as you near an obstacle, and a reverse camera shows what is behind you on a screen. Cars without them can be fitted with aftermarket kits. The work involves drilling or fitting sensor holders, routing wiring through the car and connecting the system to power and a display.

Why fit parking sensors or a reverse camera
- You find reversing into tight spaces stressful, with a high or blind rear
- A higher-sitting SUV or pickup where the rear bumper is hidden from the mirrors
- Scrapes on the rear bumper from parking in car parks and driveways
- Existing sensors that have been damaged or removed after a bumper repair
- A wish for a camera view when towing or manoeuvring a long vehicle
- A car that came without these features and has no factory screen to link to
What usually causes it
No factory fitment
Many base models and older cars never had these features. Kits exist to add them, but each car needs the right sensor positions and a way to display the image or warnings.
Removed or damaged sensors
A bumper replacement after an accident can leave out the sensors or damage the wiring. This is a repair and not an installation, and we check the wiring first.
Poor view from the driver's seat
Tall rear ends, thick rear pillars and tinted glass cut visibility. A camera and sensors make up for what the mirrors do not show.
Parking environment
Concrete pillars, low walls and other cars close together in multi-storey car parks make small errors costly. Sensors give an early warning where you have little room.
How we do parking sensor & reverse camera installation
- 1
Choose the kit
We discuss how you want the warning: a buzzer only, an LED display on the dash or a screen with a camera image. We check that your car can host the kit before ordering.
- 2
Mark and mount the sensors
Positions are measured so that the sensors sit level and evenly spaced. Holes are cut in the bumper with the right-size cutter, and the sensors are fitted in their holders.
- 3
Run wiring and connect
Wiring is routed through the boot trim and along existing looms, to the control box and reverse light feed. For a camera, the video cable goes to the display or the head unit.
- 4
Calibrate and test
We test each sensor with an object at set distances, check the alarm tones and confirm the camera comes on when reverse is selected. Any bumper paint touch-up around the holes is discussed beforehand.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Car parks in the malls and towers of Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman are tight, and rear scrapes are among the most common minor damage here. Fitting sensors costs less than a bumper repair. Camera lenses should be chosen for heat and dust, and kept wiped clean for a clear picture.
Questions about parking sensor & reverse camera installation
Will drilling holes in the bumper damage it?
The holes are cut with the correct size cutter and the sensors fit snugly. Painted bumpers may need the sensors matched to the car colour, which is an extra item we mention on the quote.
Can a camera work with my existing screen?
It depends on the car. Some factory screens accept a camera input and some do not, so we check first. If not, a small separate display or a mirror monitor is the alternative.
Do I need front sensors as well?
Rear sensors are the most common choice. Front sensors help on cars with a long bonnet or low front lip, and can be added as a separate kit.
Is it a workshop job?
Yes. The bumper often has to come off for a clean fit and hidden wiring, so we arrange pickup and delivery of the car.
What if my existing sensors beep for no reason?
That is a fault, not an installation. Dirty or damaged sensors and wiring faults cause it, and our electrical team can diagnose the circuit.
