Lexus Pre-Purchase Inspection

Lexus has a strong reputation for reliability, which is exactly why buyers sometimes skip the inspection. A well-built car can still have been crashed, neglected or driven hard in the desert. Our Lexus pre-purchase inspection confirms the reputation applies to the car in front of you.

How we do lexus pre-purchase inspection

  1. 1

    Tell us which Lexus

LX, GX, RX, ES and IS models each have different weak points. Send the model, year and engine or hybrid badge when you book.

  2. 2

    Body and underbody

We inspect the body for accident repair, then look underneath for desert damage on SUVs and for leaks from the suspension, engine and gearbox.

  3. 3

    Systems scan and drive

On the Standard and Comprehensive plans every module is scanned, including hybrid and suspension systems, and the car is driven where the seller agrees.

  4. 4

    Clear written result

The report shows what is in good order and what is not, with notes on how urgent each finding is, so you can make a calm decision.

Book lexus pre-purchase inspection

Why inspect a used Lexus

  • You are buying an LX 570 or LX 600 that has spent time in the desert
  • The RX or ES is a hybrid and you want to know how the hybrid system is doing
  • The car looks spotless but the seller cannot explain a recent respray
  • The LX sits slightly lower at the back after being parked
  • The service book has gaps after the first few dealer services
  • The car came from another country and has been registered here only recently

What usually causes it

Active Height Control on the LX

The LX 570 uses a hydraulic Active Height Control (AHC) suspension. Leaking spheres, lines or accumulators make it sag or ride harshly. We check the ride height settings, look for leaks and read suspension faults.

V8 cooling system on older LX models

The 5.7 V8 shares its engine family with the Land Cruiser 200, where water pump seepage is a known issue. Crusty pink residue around the pump or radiator is what we look for.

Hybrid system health on RX and ES hybrids

Hybrid batteries and inverter cooling fans age faster in the heat. We read hybrid system codes, check the battery cooling intake for blockage and note how the system behaves on the drive.

Hidden accident repairs

Lexus paint and panel fit are very consistent from the factory, which makes repaired panels easier to spot for a trained eye. We check gaps, paint texture and fasteners on every panel.

By make and model

Lexus LX 570 and LX 600

Suspension, underbody and signs of off-road use are the focus, plus the cooling system on V8 models.

Lexus RX and ES hybrids

Hybrid system faults, battery cooling and brake condition are the main checks, along with the usual body and accident inspection.

In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman

Lexus SUVs are favourite family and desert cars in the UAE, and hybrids are increasingly common in city traffic. Both lives are hard on specific parts, so a Lexus that has done either deserves a check before you pay a Lexus price for it.

Questions about lexus pre-purchase inspection

Do you inspect Lexus hybrids?

Yes. We read the hybrid system codes and check the parts that commonly suffer in the heat, as part of the normal inspection.

Is a Lexus with high mileage still a good buy?

It can be, if it has been maintained. The inspection tells you whether this particular car has been looked after.

Can you check an LX for desert use?

Yes. We look underneath for scrapes, bent guards, sand and leaks, and note anything that points to heavy off-road driving.

Where do you inspect?

At the car's location anywhere in Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman: the seller's home, a showroom or a car park.
