Engine Oil & Filter Change
Engine oil lubricates, cools and cleans every moving part inside the engine, and it wears out from heat and combustion by-products long before it runs low. Changing it together with the filter, using the right grade for your engine, is the cheapest protection an engine gets.

How we do engine oil & filter change
- 1
Identify the oil your engine needs
We use the grade and approval listed for your exact engine, such as a 0W-20 or 5W-30 meeting your manufacturer's standard, and agree the oil brand and price with you first.
- 2
Drain warm and replace the filter
The oil is drained while warm for a thorough flow, the drain plug washer is renewed and the plug is tightened to torque. A new filter goes on with a lightly oiled seal.
- 3
Refill and check level
The correct quantity goes in, the engine runs briefly and the level is rechecked on the dipstick or the electronic gauge after it settles. We look for leaks around the plug and filter.
- 4
Quick fluid check and reset
Coolant, brake and washer fluid levels are checked, air filter condition noted and the service indicator reset. Your next change date or mileage is written on the sticker.
Signs it is time
- The service reminder has come on, or the sticker on the windscreen is out of date
- Oil on the dipstick is black and gritty, or smells of fuel
- The engine sounds louder or ticks more on a cold start
- Oil pressure or oil level warning on the dash
- You do mostly short, stop-start trips and cannot remember the last change
- You bought the car second-hand and have no service record
What usually causes it
Heat breakdown of the oil
Oil thins and oxidises as it gets hot, and it loses its ability to protect. In sustained heat it ages faster than the mileage suggests.
Fuel and moisture dilution
Short trips never let the engine get hot enough to evaporate fuel and condensation out of the oil, so it thins and forms sludge.
Saturated filter
The filter traps soot and metal particles. When it is full, its bypass valve opens and unfiltered oil flows through the engine.
Wrong viscosity or specification
A grade that is too thick or too thin harms lubrication, variable valve timing and fuel economy. Each engine's approval standard matters, not only the number on the bottle.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Oil changes in Dubai's traffic are best treated as severe-service work. Crawling at idle with the AC on, 45 degree air and fine dust all age oil faster than a book interval assumes, so many owners here change it every 5,000 to 7,500 km rather than waiting for the longest figure in the handbook.
Questions about engine oil & filter change
How often should I change engine oil in the UAE?
Follow the handbook as a ceiling, and shorten it for city driving and heat. Many cars sit best at around 5,000 to 7,500 km with mineral or semi-synthetic oil and a little longer with full synthetic.
Does synthetic oil matter?
If your manufacturer specifies it, yes. Synthetic oil resists heat and shear better, which suits Gulf conditions. We never put in a lesser grade than the maker requires.
Can I supply my own oil?
You can, if it meets the specification. Otherwise the quote lists oil options by brand and price, so you see what you are paying for.
Will you top up other fluids too?
We check them, and if one is low we tell you and quote the top-up. Nothing is added without your agreement.
Is pickup possible?
Yes, we offer pickup and delivery, so you do not have to wait at the workshop.
