Dashboard Repair Service
A dashboard is several jobs hiding behind one name: the moulded top pad, the trim panels, the vents and switches, and the electronics behind them. The first step is deciding which of those is actually failing, because the repair, the cost and the time are completely different for each.

Signs you need dashboard repair service
- A hairline split along the top pad, usually above the instrument cluster or over the glovebox
- A rattle or buzz from behind the dash that changes with bumps or with the air conditioning on
- Climate control buttons, window switches or the hazard button that stick, wear smooth or stop responding
- Gauges that flicker, stick at zero or light up the wrong warning symbols
- A vent flap that will not stay in position, or a glovebox that drops open on its own
- A gap opening between the dash and the windscreen or the door pillars
What usually causes it
Years of sun through the windscreen
The top pad is the part of the car that receives the most direct sunlight. Over time the plasticisers in the material dry out, the surface hardens and it splits along the lines of greatest stress.
Broken clips and bosses behind the panel
Dashboards are held together by small plastic tabs. When one snaps, the panel above it can move, rattle and eventually crack. This is often the real cause of a buzz that nobody can trace.
Worn switch contacts and ribbon connections
Buttons that are pressed thousands of times lose their contact surface. Instrument clusters use flexible printed circuits and soldered joints that crack with heat cycles, which is why gauges flicker only when the car is hot.
Earlier repairs that made things worse
Glue on a cracked pad, a panel forced back with the wrong clip, or a stereo fitted without brackets can leave extra damage that has to be undone first.
How we do dashboard repair service
- 1
Sort the problem into structure, surface or electronics
We sit in the car, test every switch and gauge, listen for the rattle on a short drive, and look at how the top pad and trim are mounted. You get a plain explanation of what is failing.
- 2
Disconnect the battery and respect the airbag
Anything beyond a surface repair means taking panels off. On most cars the passenger airbag sits under the dash, so the battery is isolated and the safety system is handled exactly as the maker describes.
- 3
Repair or reseat what is broken
Snapped clips are rebuilt or replaced, switch banks are cleaned or swapped, and cluster faults are traced to a connector, a solder joint or the unit itself.
- 4
Refit, test and scan
Everything is refitted without forcing, every function is tested, and the car is scanned so no airbag or electrical fault is left stored.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
A car parked outdoors in Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman can have its dashboard surface temperature reach levels that most plastics were never designed for, so the damage we see here appears years earlier than in cooler countries. Diagnosis is free with repair if you go ahead, and the written quote lists any extra parts and costs before we begin.
Questions about dashboard repair service
Is a cracked dashboard dangerous?
A crack in the top pad is mostly cosmetic. It becomes a safety matter when it runs through the airbag cover on the passenger side, because the cover must open cleanly in a crash. We check that before anything else.
Can you fix only the rattle?
Yes. Finding the loose clip or the panel that is vibrating is usually a smaller job than the owner fears, and it does not need the whole dashboard removed.
My cluster works only some days. Is it the cluster?
Not always. A weak battery, a poor earth or a loose connector can mimic a cluster fault. We measure the supply first, and only then open the unit.
Do you use original parts?
The choice between OEM, aftermarket and used parts is yours, and the price of each option is on the written quote. For panels that are no longer sold new, a used part in good condition is often the practical answer.
