Paint Correction
Paint correction is a deeper, multi-stage version of polishing. Instead of one pass to add gloss, the technician levels the clear coat with abrasive compounds, then refines it with progressively finer polishes, so that swirls, scratches and etched marks are removed instead of filled.

How we do paint correction
- 1
Measure and map the defects
A paint thickness gauge shows how much lacquer there is to work with on each panel, and an inspection lamp reveals defect depth. This sets a safe plan, and it flags repaints.
- 2
Decontaminate and test
The car is washed and clayed. Test spots with different pads and compounds identify the least aggressive combination that removes the defects.
- 3
Compound, then refine
The first stage with a cutting compound levels the defects, and one or two finishing stages restore clarity. Panels are wiped and checked under light after every stage.
- 4
Final inspection and protection
The finish is wiped with a solvent to reveal any remaining marks, and a sealant or ceramic coating is applied. We show you the result and explain what could not be removed.
Why get paint correction
- Dark paint that looks like a spiderweb in the sun
- Light scratches from a brush car wash or someone's sleeve, in many places
- Etched bird-dropping or water-spot marks that polishing once did not clear
- Holograms or buffer trails left by a rushed previous polish
- Paint that feels smooth but never looks clear, even after waxing
- A high-value car about to be coated, sold or shown
What usually causes it
Years of improper washing
Drive-through brushes, sponges and dry towels leave thousands of fine scratches. In bright light they scatter reflections and make the colour look dull.
Etching from contaminants
Acidic bird droppings, insect remains and mineral-laden water dissolve into the lacquer. The damage can be below the surface, needing a compound to level.
Previous poor polishing
Rotary polishers used with the wrong pad leave swirl trails or holograms. Correcting these needs careful finishing passes.
Oxidation and sun fade
A heavily weathered clear coat is rough throughout its top layer. Removing the damaged part reveals the clear paint below, as long as enough remains.
In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman
Clear coats here take punishment from sun, dust and gritty roadside spray, and soft, dark paints on premium cars scratch easily. The thickness check matters because many cars in the market have been polished before; there is only so much lacquer, and we tell you if the paint cannot take another correction.
Questions about paint correction
What is the difference between polishing and paint correction?
A polish refines gloss with one light pass. Paint correction removes more material over several stages to level deeper defects, taking longer and costing more.
Can all scratches be removed?
Only those that sit within the clear coat. We reduce deeper ones as far as is safe, but cannot remove a scratch that has reached the colour or primer without repainting.
Will correction thin my paint dangerously?
Done with a gauge and a careful plan, no. We take only what the defects require, and decline to push a thin panel beyond a safe limit.
Should I get a coating afterwards?
It is a good idea, since correction leaves bare, perfect paint. A coating or sealant helps keep it that way, and we can quote the combination together.
Can you correct a repainted car?
Often, but repaint thickness varies widely and respray paint can be softer or thinner. That is why we measure first and test a small patch before committing to the full job.
