Fitting a repair between school runs

Al Barsha and Umm Suqeim have schools every few streets, and for many families the car is needed early in the morning and again in the early afternoon. Book a collection just after the morning drop-off, and routine work such as a service, brake pads or a battery is usually back the same day, typically 4 to 8 hours after collection.

If the job is bigger, the quote says so before you approve it. Major repairs typically take 1 to 3 days, and knowing that in advance gives you time to arrange the school run another way.

Every cost is itemised on your written quote alongside the parts and labour, so the full price is clear before you decide.

Villas and apartment blocks

In the villa streets of Al Barsha 2, Al Barsha 3 and Umm Suqeim, the car is usually in the driveway or on the street by the gate, and anyone at home can hand over the key. In Al Barsha 1, Barsha Heights and Al Barsha South the car is more often in a building car park, so tell us the building name, the level and how a visitor gets in.

Either way, send a location pin. Many Al Barsha 1 buildings sit on the service roads behind Sheikh Zayed Road, and the car park entrance is not always on the street you would expect. The driver photographs the car at collection and sends the photos to you on WhatsApp.

What Mall of the Emirates traffic does to a car

The roads around Mall of the Emirates, its junction with Sheikh Zayed Road and Umm Suqeim Street towards Al Khail Road are slow for much of the day, and at weekends the queue for the mall car parks can back up onto the main road. A car that spends that long at walking pace in the heat runs its cooling fan and AC flat out with little air moving through the radiator.

The wear shows up in a few predictable places: brake pads and discs wear faster, automatic gearbox fluid runs hotter, and AC that is fine on the highway blows warm at the traffic lights. That last symptom usually points to a weak condenser fan or a low refrigerant charge rather than a failed compressor, and we check both before anything is replaced.

School drop-off zones are hard on tyres and wheels too: tight kerbs, quick U-turns and cars parked half on the pavement. Scuffed sidewalls and kerbed alloys are worth a look, because a damaged sidewall can fail at highway speed.

Diagnosis and quotes on WhatsApp

Every job starts with a diagnosis at our workshop. You then receive an itemised quote on WhatsApp listing each part and the labour, and nothing is done until you approve it. Diagnosis is free if you go ahead with the repair; if you do not, it is charged at an amount we tell you first.

We reply from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, so a warning light noticed in the mall car park on a Saturday evening can be booked for collection the next morning.

Parts, warranty and used cars

You choose OEM, aftermarket or used parts for most repairs, and the quote shows the price of each. Selected items carry our parts and labour warranty, and the warranty page explains what is covered.

Used cars change hands all the time in Al Barsha, as families move on and buy from showrooms along Sheikh Zayed Road. Before you pay a deposit, our pre-purchase inspection checks the engine, gearbox, body, paint, electrics and fault codes where the car is parked, and you get a written report. Plans cost AED 299, 399 or 799, depending on how many points are checked.

Al Barsha car repair questions

Can the car be back before school pick-up?

For routine work, usually yes. Services, brake pads and batteries are typically done 4 to 8 hours after collection. Tell us the time you need the car, and the quote says whether the job fits.

My AC is cold on the highway but warm in traffic. Why?

Usually a weak condenser fan or a low refrigerant charge, because at low speed the fan has to do all the work of cooling the condenser. We check the fan, the pressures and the condenser before quoting.

Can you collect from a building in Barsha Heights?

Yes. Send the building name, a pin and the parking level, and tell us how a visitor gets into the car park. If you are at work, leave the key with security and tell us who has it.

Is a scuffed tyre sidewall dangerous?

It can be. A light scuff on the rubber is usually cosmetic, but a cut, a bulge or exposed cord means the tyre should be replaced. We check it and quote a replacement only if it is needed.

How much is pickup and delivery in Al Barsha?

The cost depends on where the car is collected and where it is returned. It is itemised on your written quote before you approve any work.

Can you inspect a used car at a showroom before I buy it?

Yes. Pre-purchase inspections, battery replacement and diagnostic scans can be done where the car is. Plans are AED 299, 399 or 799, and you get a written report before you pay.
